Well it's here, we're now officially Brexited and in the Transition Period until the end of 2020 so what does that mean for intending buyers of leisure homes in France? The immediate answer is that, until December 31st, if you can get your home delivered to France before any new legislation comes in, you can still take advantage of the VAT/TVA differential which can save you a good 12% on your purchase price. We had a fair bit of pent up business that was just awaiting the outcome of the general election and the passing of the Withdrawal Bill before potential buyers would commit to purchase; now that there is renewed confidence for the future our clients are proceeding with their purchases. Our suggestion, (and this isn't just salesman speak), is that anyone contemplating buying should not drag their heels; at the moment to get a new home down to the Riviera this Summer may need some fancy foot work to avoid disappointment. The 2021 (yes, 2021) versions are being prepped for September launches so these may come into consideration, provided factories can come up with the goods by December at the latest; anything leaving the UK after January 1st may be caught up in whatever customs and taxation arrangements come along after 2020. So, check out our Park, pore over the webpages of our suppliers and ask us to quote you on what is the hottest deal on the Cote d'Azur by miles. Don't delay!
Sadly, we now have to confront the limitations which government policies across Europe are placing on citizens and free movement within and without their home nations; the word 'unprecedented' is perhaps overused but is very true of the current situation. We earnestly hope that everyone will heed the precautions which are being recommended for us all to stay safe and ensure our future health at this time of global crisis. With the help of the populace and the unstinting devotion of our health care professionals and the scientific community developing treatments for the COVID-19 virus we look forward to a return to normality over the coming months, hopefully leaving us some time to take well earned breaks.
At the moment, most, if not all leisure home manufacturers have suspended production although some are maintaining office, administration and aftersales functions within the scope of safe working. Hopefully this will just be an interruption to the season and everything will pick up again before too long so that buyers and renters will be able to resume their leisure activities and salvage their precious holidays which will, we're sure, be even more greatly appreciated than ever.
